The Journal of Eukaryotic Microbiology is one of the premier journals for protistological research. First published in 1954, its mission is to serve as a venue for publication of excellent research on protistan microbes in areas including taxonomy, evolution, cell biology, ecology, parasitology, genomics, and more. JEM is the official society publication of the International Society of Protistologists, a not-for-profit multi-national scientific society for the advancement and fostering of the discipline of protistology.
ISOP is welcoming applications for the position of Editor in Chief of JEM. This is an opportunity to serve and support the protistological community and shape the direction of an important voice in our discipline. The Editor in Chief works with a dedicated Editorial Assistant for the journal and an experienced Editorial Board.
The Editor in Chief will be responsible for: appointing Associate Editors and members of the Editorial Board, moderating peer-review of individual articles via the Associate editors; approving line-up of journal issues; directing special collections; financial reporting to ISOP; interaction with the journal publisher Wiley. Duration of term: 3 years renewable
Start date: July 1st, 2024
Salary/honorarium: No less than $4500 plus additional incentives
