The Holz-Conner Award, established in honor of George Holz and Robert Conner, is dedicated to fostering the Society’s membership and engagement by supporting the participation of students and financially constrained early-career investigators at its annual meetings. Each award offers up to $1,500 per recipient to assist with travel and accommodation expenses for those presenting their work. Eligibility for the award is exclusive to Society members, with the submission deadline January 10, 2026. Applications must be submitted by the specified deadline (GMT) through the online form, which is now available (https://forms.gle/YeEGUfeetczQmFCH6). Late or incomplete submissions will not be accepted, and proof of incurred travel expenses must be provided.
The priority guidelines for the application process are as follows:
- PhD students and Postdoctoral fellows will be given preference over other early-career researchers.
- To advance gender diversity, applications from individuals of underrepresented genders (women and non-binary) will be prioritized when candidates have equal merit.
- New applicants will be given preference over last year’s awardees.
- A maximum of two applicants from the same laboratory may be granted the award in any given year.
- A maximum of two applicants can be sponsored by the same ISOP member.
* The Holz-Conner award is incompatible with other traveling funding provided by ISOP such as the funding provided to symposia.
